Communiqué de la F.E.A.J.D. La Fédération Euro Arménienne inaugure ses locaux bruxellois Bruxelles, Belgique - La Fédération Euro-Arménienne
pour la Justice et le Démocratie a inauguré son bureau bruxellois
le samedi 13 juillet en présence de plusieurs officiels de la République
dArménie ainsi que de nombreuses figures de la communauté
des Arméniens dEurope ; un grand nombre de responsables des
structures politiques et associatives de la diaspora avaient notamment
fait le déplacement. Au cours de la cérémonie, Mme Hilda Tchoboian présidente de la Fédération Euro-Arménienne, a lu à lassistance les messages de soutien et dencouragement de M. Vartan Oskanian, Ministre des Affaires Etrangères de la République dArménie, de M. Guy Fisher, Vice-Président du Sénat français, de M. François Rochebloine, député UDF et de M. Alexis Govciyan, président du Conseil de Coordination des Organisations Arméniennes de France (CCAF). Dans son message, M. Oskanian a rappelé que « la Fédération Euro-Arménienne a mené des actions continues et ciblées depuis des dizaines dannées dans les pays européens et dans les structures arméniennes pour faire connaître les problèmes arméniens et en assistant la politique étrangère de lArménie. » La présidente de la Fédération Euro-Arménienne invita ensuite S.E. M Tchitedjian et M. Garo Armenian à couper le ruban de linauguration après quoi de brèves allocutions furent prononcées par les trois ambassadeurs présents, ainsi que par MM Roustamyan et Armenian et par M. Mourad Papazian du Comité Central de la FRA. Dans son discours, M. Armenian mis en exergue le fait que « laction du bureau se construira toujours sur la force politique du peuple arménien » et que « ce bureau sera le point dancrage des Arméniens Européens » ; il a enfin souligné que « nous ne pouvons nous permettre dexclure un seul Arménien de la mission globale du Hay Tad ». Pour sa part, M. Roustamyan insista sur « la nécessité de structurer la communauté autour de ce bureau afin datteindre les objectifs politiques qui sont les siens ». Il exhorta également la communauté à « se définir une plate-forme politique commune afin de figer ces objectifs ». Après quoi, Mme Tchoboian présenta à lassistance le directeur exécutif du bureau, M. Laurent Leylekian, et sa chargée de communication, Mme Talline Tachdjian . Cette manifestation fut loccasion pour les amis de la Cause Arménienne
de se faire une idée des actions du bureau, notamment à
travers les documents qui leurs furent remis et par le biais du nouveau
site web (http://www.feajd.org)
de la Fédération qui fut lancé officiellement à
cette occasion.
Addressing the attendees, Federation president Mrs. Hilda Tchoboian stated, "We thank you for your strong show of support and look forward to working hand-in-hand with you and all Europeans of Armenian descent to ensure that our collective aspirations are properly reflected in all levels of European politics and institutions." As a link between European Institutions and Armenian communities throughout Europe, the European Armenian Federation works to provide European policy makers with a better understanding of key issues of concern to European Armenians. Among the hundred guests who packed onto 10 Renaissance Street were H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Benelux countries and to the European Union and NATO Mr. Vicken Tchitedjian; H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Italy Mr. Gagik Baghdassarian; H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Mr. Vahram Kazoyan; Mr. Armen Roustamyan, ARF representative to the Armenian Parliament and member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe; and Mr. Artak Harutiunian, permanent representative of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabagh in France and Europe. In addition, the Armenian community of Belgium was represented by community leader Mr. Edouard Jakhian, who wished this new office great success, as well as by Mrs. Anne-Marie Mouradian. The hosts from the European Armenian Federation included Mr. Garo Armenian and Mr. Hagop Yenikomchian of the ARF Bureau, members of the ARF Central Committee of Western Europe, leaders of the ARF and ANC chapters of France, Greece, Germany and Italy, as well as leaders from the AYF Nor Seround and ARS chapters from France, Macedonia-Thrace, Germany and Greece; and members of the media (Haratch, France-Arménie, Armenika, Ayp FM, Azat Or), among other representatives who came from across Europe. During the ceremony, Federation president Hilda Tchoboian read letters of support and encouragement from Mr. Vartan Oskanian, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia; Mr. Guy Fisher, Vice-President of the French Senate; Mr. François Rochebloine, deputy of the UDF political party; and from Mr. Alexis Govciyan, president of the Coordination Committee of the Armenian Organizations of France. In his message, Mr. Oskanian noted that "for many decades, the European Armenian Federation has taken continuous and focused action within European countries and Armenian structures to make the Armenian Cause known and to assist in the foreign policy of Armenia." The president of the European Armenian Federation then invited H.E. Mr. Tchitedjian and Mr. Garo Armenian to do the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, which was followed by brief speeches by the three ambassadors present, as well as by Mr. Roustamyan and Mr. Armenian, and Mr. Mourad Papazian of the ARF Central Committee. In his speech, Mr. Armenian emphasized the fact that "the work of the office will always be built on the political will of the Armenian people" and that "this office will be an anchor for the European Armenians"; Finally, he underscored that "we cannot permit ourselves to exclude a single Armenian from the global mission of Hai Tahd". For his part, Mr. Rustamyan insisted on "the need to organize the community around this office in order to achieve the political objectives that are dear to all of us." He also urged the community "to define for itself a common political platform in order to accomplish these objectives". Mrs. Tchoboian then introduced the executive director of the office, Mr. Laurent Leylekian, and the director of communication, Ms. Talline Tachdjian. This ceremony offered an opportunity for supporters of the Armenian Cause to learn more about the work of the office, in particular through written materials that were distributed and through the new Web site of the Federation (http://www.eafjd.org), which was officially launched on this occasion.
